Trial is project series to be presented at Recess in the interim between residencies. As a counterpoint to the fluid, durational work/exhibition residencies that constitute Recess’ primary programming, Trial continues the mission of questioning the context of contemporary art by presenting brief (1-2 day) projects. While Recess offers residency artists the opportunity to negotiate process/production/public presentation throughout their stay, Trial seeks to punctuate the space with short projects that highlight these tensions in single works.
